Minor Novice Hockey is not available this season
Submitted By Darcy Elliott on Monday, October 01, 2018
Unfortunately due to extremely low Minor Novice registration numbers we will not be offering a Minor Novice program at Coronation this season.

I have to  convey some bad news regarding the upcoming Minor Novice Season at Coronation .   Due to the extremely low registration numbers for 7 year olds and the new rules regarding minor Novice and Major Novice for this year, we are being told that we have to cancel our Minor Novice program for this year.
We do not like the decision and have tried to get the powers that be to re-classify us as a small centre so that we can combine the 7 and 8's this year and run our program .   However, it has been made clear to us that as a member of the Recreational Hockey Leagues and the Hamilton Minor Hockey Association there are options that can be made available within the city of Hamilton.
It is for these reasons that we can offer you 3 options for your child to play hockey this season:

1) Register with Coronation Minor Hockey and transfer to either Mount Hamilton MHA at Dave Andreychuk Arena or Rosedale Hockey Association at Rosedale Arena where the 7 year old program is being run this year. We would simply keep our current registered players and transfer the necessary fees to either of those associations on your behalf.

Rosedale's Website:  https://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=rmha

2) Transfer your child to the Hamilton Minor Hockey Program, who will accept 7 year olds for another year of their skills program at the Mohawk Quad arena. Similar to the above option, except that this program focuses on more skills based instruction.

3) Register with Dundas.   They are with OMHA so a player cannot be shared internally for a year. The registration fees for Novice this year is $550 and the program is a combined 7 and 8 year old program.

Dundas MHA website is:  https://dmha.ca/

We apologize for the cancellation of the Minor Novice season at Coronation and for the timing of all this.  We tried everything that we could think of to keep our 7 year olds at the 'Nation but unfortunately the numbers just weren't there to support the program for this year.
